Pulse Oximetry Monitors

Nellcor™ Bedside SpO2 Patient Monitoring System

The Nellcor™ Bedside SpO2 Patient Monitoring System1 incorporates the latest Nellcor digital signal processing technology for accurate, reliable readings even during low perfusion and other forms of signal interference, providing clinicians with access to the most critical information regarding their patients’ respiratory status. With improved functionality, including continuous SpO2 and pulse rate monitoring, trending data and SatSeconds alarm management, clinicians can feel confident in the ability to detect respiratory complications earlier and intervene sooner.

The Patient Monitoring System offers a compact, bedside design with improved functionality, built in handle and an intuitive, easy-to-use and easy-to-read, color user interface, making it simpler for clinicians to review and download critical patient data. Save time and space with this easy-to-use patient monitoring system.

The System allows the hospital’s biomedical engineers and technicians to simply and effectively set institutional defaults as well as easily replace the battery, perform diagnostics to troubleshoot performance issues and generally maintain the monitor within the hospital. Additionally, the new system meets medical electrical equipment standards and is RoHs

Alarm Management System
An upgrade to the Nellcor™ N600x bedside pulse oximetry monitor that identifies and alerts staff to physiologic conditions that suggest relevant respiratory events and patterns in desaturation without adding to the current set of monitors and sensors. The Covidien Alarm Management System (AMS) promotes patient safety by alerting clinicians to desaturation patterns indicative of repetitive reductions in airflow and helping ensure that alarms are treated promptly by reducing alarm fatigue.

Case studies and news articles abound on the subject, while workshops and forums focus on recognizing respiratory depression in time to mitigate patient risks. A recent study shows that respiratory depression is the number one reason for respiratory codes in hospitals today1 while impairment of ventilation in postoperative patients was the cornerstone of the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation safety initiative in 20062.

Nellcor™ N600x Bedside Pulse Oximetry Monitor

Delivers accurate, reliable readings and works with the complete family of Nellcor™ SpO2 sensors with OxiMax™ technology to more effectively monitor a wider range of patients even when low perfusion and signal interference are present1. The full-featured Nellcor™ N600x bedside pulse oximetry monitor also includes the SatSeconds alarm management technology, which offers a safe, practical way to reduce clinically insignificant alarms.

The SatSeconds alarm management function analyzes desaturation events by multiplying the duration (seconds) by the number of percentage points the patient exceeds the alarm limit. Clinicians can set SatSeconds alarm management technology limit to 10, 25, 50 or 100. Once the limit is set, only events that equal or surpass the set limit cause the alarm to sound.

The LoSat™ expanded accuracy feature of Nellcor™ SpO2 adhesive sensors with OxiMax™ technology assures clinicians of the industry's widest accuracy range (60% to 100% SpO2) when used with the Nellcor™ N600x bedside pulse oximetry monitor. This allows improved patient assessment at the more challenging lower saturation levels.

The Nellcor™ pulse oximetry system creates a communication link between the sensor and monitor that empowers the Nellcor™ N600x bedside pulse oximeter to display valuable information to clinicians. The sensor messages function provides troubleshooting tips for optimal sensor application, and the sensor event report allows alarm event history stored in the sensor to travel with the patient for quick assessment at various points of care.

  • The Nellcor™ N-600x pulse oximeter with OxiMax™ technology has the same signal processing technology as the Nellcor™ N-600 pulse oximeter.

Nellcor™ N560 Bedside Pulse Oximetry Monitor
A compact, affordable monitor compatible with the complete family of innovative Nellcor™ SpO2 sensors with OxiMax™ technology. Smaller than many standalone oximeters, the Nellcor™ N-560 pulse oximeter features a simple design that makes it easy to operate. It incorporates the latest digital signal processing technology from Covidien for accurate, reliable readings even during low perfusion and other forms of signal interference. The result is more efficient, effective monitoring on a wide range of patients.

The LoSat™ expanded accuracy feature of Nellcor™ SpO2 adhesive sensors with OxiMax™ technology assures clinicians of the industry's widest accuracy range (60% to 100% SpO2) when used with the Nellcor™ N-560 pulse oximeter. This allows improved patient assessment at the more challenging lower saturation levels.

The SatSeconds alarm management technology function analyzes desaturation events by multiplying the duration (seconds) by the number of percentage points the patient exceeds the alarm limit. Clinicians can set the SatSeconds alarm management technology limit to 10, 25, 50 or 100 SatSeconds. Once the limit is set, only events that equal or surpass the set limit cause the alarm to sound.

Nellcor™ Oxinet III Remote Monitoring System
Nellcor™ Oxinet III remote monitoring system offers a cost-effective method for implementing continuous pulse oximetry monitoring in areas with lower nurse-to-patient ratios, such as the general care floor, step-down units and specialty care areas. The system provides continuous central station monitoring of up to 24 Nellcor™ pulse oximeters with OxiMax™ technology, providing earlier notification of developing respiratory events.

Provides secondary alarm notification, which supports compliance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) National Patient Safety Goal to improve the effectiveness of clinical alarm systems.1

The Joint Commission has developed two specific goals centered on the concept of knowing sooner and acting faster. JCAHO’s National Patient Safety goal two requires improving the effectiveness of communication among caregivers, as well as managing hand-off communications. JCAHO’s National Patient Safety goal sixteen requires improving recognition and response to changes in a patient’s condition. The Nellcor™ Oxinet III remote monitoring system will provide a solution to recognizing this deterioration, as well as detailed communication on a patient’s previous and current respiratory status to their primary caregivers.
